Lupus is an infammatory disease caused when the immune system attacks its own tissues. There are 5 known forms of Lupus
SLE - Most common type of Lupus causing widespread inflammation and tissue damage in the affected organs. It can affet the joints, skin, brain, lungs, kidneys and blood vessels.
Cutaneous Lupus - the immune system targets skin cells, causing inflammation that leads to re, thick, and often scaly rashes and sores that may burn or itch.
Drug Induced Lupus - Lupus disease caused by certain prescription drugs.
Neonatal Lupus - A rare type of Lupus that affectys newborn babies.
Lupus can affect people of all ages, including children. However, women of childbearing ages are at greatest risk. Lupus is Rare in Men, 1 out of every 10 men are diagnosed with Lupus.
